Terms of Service

Effective August 3, 2026 · Catastrophism Research Association LLC

1. Who we are

catastrophism.org is operated by Catastrophism Research Association LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("the Association", "we"). These terms govern your use of the site and your membership.

2. Membership

Membership tiers, pricing, and caps are as stated on the membership page at the time of purchase. Founding-tier terms (caps, rate locks, lifetime access, acknowledgments) are honored for the life of the membership and are never modified retroactively. We may add tiers or change pricing for future members; changes never apply backward.

3. Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by our payment providers on behalf of the Association. Founding tiers carry a 14-day full-refund window from purchase. Annual plans are refundable pro-rata within the first 30 days. Monthly plans cancel any time and do not renew. Refund requests go to members@catastrophism.org.

4. Research content

Association publications are research and education. They are not predictions of specific events, not emergency guidance, and not financial, safety, or professional advice. Every claim is labeled by its epistemic status under the Association's methodology standards, and hypotheses carry explicit falsification criteria. Do not make safety-critical or financial decisions on the basis of any single publication.

5. Member content and conduct

Member discussion areas are for substantive engagement with the research. We may remove content or suspend memberships (with refund of unused paid periods) for harassment, spam, or misrepresentation of Association work. Work you submit for review remains yours; accepted submissions are published in the archive with full attribution under the license you agree to at submission.

6. Intellectual property

Association publications, the methodology standards, and site content are the Association's property or are licensed to it. Member access is personal and non-transferable; Organization licenses cover named seats only. Externally linked researcher work belongs to its authors.

7. Donations

Donations are voluntary gifts, separate from membership, and are not tax-deductible while our 501(c)(3) foundation arm is in formation; funds given as donations are sequestered for Foundation use upon IRS approval. See the support page for the full disclosure.

8. Liability

The site and membership are provided as-is. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Association's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amounts you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; material changes are announced to members with notice before taking effect. Questions: members@catastrophism.org. Governing law: Wyoming, USA.
