What Is Catastrophism?

Catastrophism holds that Earth history is shaped by sudden geophysical cataclysms alongside gradual change. The Association studies the mechanisms of those cataclysms against the measured record, and one series frames the near term: the strength of Earth's magnetic dipole, reconstructed across eighteen thousand years and measured directly since 1840.

The Association begins from the measured record. Every package is cleaned mechanically, documented column by column, checksummed, and shipped with the preparation script that reproduces it from its named institutional source.

Independent quantitative researcher in polar motion dynamics and core-mantle coupling. Original work in the time-series behavior of Earth orientation parameters as observable indicators of subsurface geodynamic state. Authors the analytic doctrine the Association adopts as its methodological standard: structured epistemic labeling, falsification criteria, and the discipline of publishing findings that contradict prior work.

Founding ContributorFounding

Ben Davidson

Independent researcher on solar-terrestrial coupling and the mechanisms by which space-weather state propagates into Earth-system dynamics. Author of one of the longest-running public bodies of work on disconnection events, geomagnetic excursions, and the dynamics governing the solar-magnetic-geomagnetic chain. Convenor of one of the largest public communities engaged with catastrophist research in real time.

Membership is an explicit alternative to the closed-access model of mainstream science and the entertainment model of independent media. Standard membership is $25 per month and opens at public launch. The capped founding tiers open first, in a pre-sale whose date is announced to reservation holders before it is announced publicly.
