Privacy Policy
What we collect
Account details you provide (name, email, membership tier), payment records held by our payment processors (we never store card numbers), interest-form submissions, correspondence you send us, and basic privacy-respecting site analytics without cross-site tracking.
What we use it for
Operating your membership: authentication, billing, delivering the research letter and member communications, honoring founding-tier acknowledgments (your name appears in publication acknowledgments only with the consent you give at signup), and improving the site.
What we never do
We do not sell member data. We do not run advertising or share data with advertisers. We do not use third-party tracking pixels. Member lists are never disclosed; acknowledgment rosters list only members who opted in.
Who processes data for us
Our membership platform (authentication, billing, and email delivery), our payment processor, and our hosting provider each process data strictly to provide the service. Each is bound by its own published privacy terms; a current list of processors is available on request.
Your choices
You can access, correct, or delete your account data, export your data, opt out of the acknowledgment roster, and unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time. Write to members@catastrophism.org and we will act within 30 days.
Retention and security
Membership records are kept while your membership is active and for the period required for tax and accounting. Access to member data is limited to the founders and processors above, over encrypted connections.
